Testing 1... 2... 3...

It was a dark and stormy night. Nope not actually. Just a rainy day, and I was hiding away in a bookstore while visiting charming Montréal. I just so happened to pick up a magazine on quilting. I briefly flipped through it, thought "Hey! I should make a quilt sometime!", put it back on the shelf (I should have bought it! Biggest regret of life), and went to go meet a friend.
Fast forward a few months. I was working at Lush (I'm such a Lushie), and I had an unexpected day off. I felt like doing something productive and I remembered my fleeting desire to make a quilt. I went to buy some fabric, watched a few YouTube tutorials, and then began my very first patchwork quilt!

That's the short story of how I got involved in quilting. Prior to this, I studied at Sheridan college in Oakville, Ontario and received my Bachelor of Applied Arts in Illustration. I had never really seen modern fabric until after I started to dabble in quilting, and my mom (or Mumsy, as I call her) introduced me to the "Fat Quarter Shop" website. This was both good and bad. I bought far too much fabric, but was also exposed to such gorgeous fabrics that have inspired so much of my work.

I will try not to wax poetic too much. Let's let some photos do the talking. (I used variegated thread on this one, it was so exciting.)
